James Baldwin is one of the most unique success stories in modern motorsport, proving that elite racing talent can come from both the racetrack and the virtual world.

After starting in karting at just eight years old and winning multiple national championships, James was forced to step away from racing as a teenager due to the financial realities of motorsport. He found a new route through sim racing, where his speed, racecraft and work ethic quickly made him one of the most respected drivers in the world.

In 2019, James won the global World’s Fastest Gamer competition, earning a fully funded season in the British GT Championship. The following year, he made headlines by winning on his British GT debut at Oulton Park in a McLaren 720S GT3 with Jenson Button’s Team Rocket RJN.

Since then, James has continued to compete across both real-world motorsport and elite sim racing. In 2026, he joined Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team as a Simulator Driver and became part of Verstappen Sim Racing, placing him among the rare drivers performing at the highest level in both disciplines.

The James Baldwin Elite Glove is not merch. It is built on the IMB Version 3 Racing Glove, a new iteration of elite sim racing glove developed over nine months by IMB Racewear in collaboration with James Baldwin.

Created alongside the new IMB Pro Glove platform, the Elite has been designed to bridge the gap between sim racing and real motorsport, with a clear focus on fit, durability, feel and performance.

James’ experience across elite sim racing, GT racing and Formula 1 simulator work has shaped the glove from the start. The Elite has also been extensively tested by James for performance, strength and long-session comfort, helping create a product that feels connected on the wheel and built to perform.

This is not a souvenir or a simple signature item. It is a serious bit of kit, built for drivers who care about feel, durability and performance every time they get behind the wheel.

The Elite Version 3 Glove

  • Refined Finger Fit


    The finger profile has been carefully reshaped to give a closer, more natural fit around the hand, reducing excess material and helping the glove feel more precise from the moment you put it on. This improved fit gives a stronger connection between the driver and the wheel, with less movement inside the glove and a cleaner feel through every input.

  • Enhanced Control


    The Elite Glove has been developed to give the driver a more controlled feel through the wheel, with improved fit, palm shape and grip layout working together to support smoother inputs and better feedback. Each glove also includes five touch-compatible finger points, allowing easier use of phones, tablets and track pads without removing the glove.

  • Extended Race Fit Cuff


    A longer, more fitted cuff has been developed to give the glove a more authentic race glove feel from the moment it is worn. The extended shape provides improved wrist coverage, a more secure fit and a cleaner professional motorsport-style profile, helping the glove sit properly on the hand without feeling loose or unfinished.

    It remains comfortable and flexible enough for long sim sessions, regular training and competitive use.

  • Improved Palm Fit


    The palm area has been reworked to sit more naturally against the hand when gripping the wheel. This helps reduce bunching, improves comfort and creates a cleaner contact point between the driver and the wheel.

  • Premium Construction


    The upper part of the glove now features a premium reinforced construction with an additional breathable performance layer. This gives the glove a stronger, more durable upper section while maintaining the flexibility, airflow and comfort needed for extended use.

  • Extended Reinforcement


    The finger and thumb areas already reinforced across IMB gloves have been developed further for the Elite. This extended reinforcement improves durability in the areas that work hardest, helping the glove hold its shape and performance over longer-term use.
